Many organisations offer their own training to both staff and volunteers. The type and standard of training is therefore very dependent on the organisation’s resources and the level of expertise within the organisation. In many cases the training is based on accepted or accredited courses. For instance the palliative home-based care training that many hospices offer their caregivers is based on the Hospice Palliative Care Association’s (HPCA) recommended training course.
