Inyathelo aims to strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations to mobilise support and resources in order to build financially sustainable and purposeful organisations. Inyathelo runs workshops around the country for the non-profit sector to help NPOs become more proficient in fundraising. It also runs a resource centre (people need to make a reservation online) providing clients with relevant books, journals and DVDs and access to an online donor directory of over 1600 grantmakers active in South Africa. This donor directory can also be accessed online for an annual fee of R1,710 for registered non-profit organisations and R2850 for individuals and institutions. The Institute runs the annual Inyathelo Philanthropy Awards to promote social giving in South Africa. The Group has a unique niche as the only forum dedicated to creating a space where Africa grantmakers can come together to share and learn. Members from part of a learning community which shapes practices in the field. Please note that AGAG itself does not assist in fundraising. This website, which serves the interests of the general non-profit sector, has an online donor directory (prescription only), an online giving service and other useful information. The donor directory provides authorised subscribers with access to information on more than 1,750 corporate grantmakers, trusts, foundations, individuals or businesses from South Africa and abroad. Current subscription fees for 2011 are R750 (excluding VAT) for all non-profit organisations, (NPOs) including non-governmental organisations, community-based organisations, faith-based organisations, Section 21 companies, registered trusts or any other voluntary association that is formally constituted and not-for-profit. Proof of non-profit status may be requested. Subscription fees for independent freelance fundraisers and/or fundraising consultants and other applicants are R1,000 (excluding VAT) per annum. Organisations that are registered and current in their content on the GreaterGood South Africa Trust website pay only R500 (excluding VAT) per annum.
