Organisation:Stellenbosch University Qualification obtained:Master of Theology Accrediting body:University of Stellenbosch Course description:The Master of Theology (MTh) Clinical Pastorate - HIV Ministry and Counselling, is hosted by the Stellenbosch University Faculty of Theology and combines Psychology and Theology. The degree integrates pastoral theory (Theology) and practice (clinical setting) to foster an interdisciplinary approach between pastoral care and counselling, and psychology and psychiatry. Through exposure to different clinical settings and practical work under supervision, students develop counselling and listening skills and a pastoral sensitivity in care and counselling. Syllabus:Academic and structured and clinical work. Internships are done at government clinics and hospitals dealing specifically with HIV and AIDS. Assessment methods:Research thesis, clinical work under supervision, oral and written exams, verbatims, assignments, and case studies.
